Thanet Colts U15's - EKYL 6 - 2 Ramsgate Trinity

Home | 25 February 2018
Today opponents were the leagues bottom team but with some new players, shouldn’t be underestimated.

A very windy, cold and hard Garlinge pitch saw both teams struggle to get hold of the game. They made it very difficult for us closing us down quickly and making us panic a bit and make some basic errors. And on 20 minutes a bad pass from our defence saw Ramsgate break through and score and get a deserved lead. At half time we made some key substitutions and this paid off with Frazer Jardine now at right back sent a strong ball down the right for Sam March who put muscled two defenders to smash the ball under the keeper. 1-1 and game on. 5 minutes later a fantastic corner from William Shuttle was headed home from Alfie Turner. Minutes later another corner wasn’t dealt with by Ramsgate and fell to George Kailou who controlled, spun and shot from 6 yards, 3-1 and now in control. Ramsgate tried a through ball which was cut out by Darian Coman who took a touch looked up and sent the ball over there defence for the waiting Sam March to take on the keeper and place it in the bottom corner. Ramsgate weren’t giving up and with 14 minutes left they had a free kick which William Hill managed to parry away only for Ramsgate to react quicker and fire home 4-2. Another corner saw Ramsgate once again not clear there lines and it fell kindly to captain Joshua Palmer on the edge of the box to smash home, making it 5-2. There was still time for one more goal. Great work from Nation Limbu to George Kailou who fed the ball to Lucius Hetterley to calmly place it under the keeper. Lucius deserved his goal after his tireless running and effort for the team. A scrappy first half, but a much improved second, but a convincing 6-2 win. With other results going our way the race for the title looks back on. Man of the match went to Adam Brisley today for such a commanding performance.
